Grand Opening Weekend July 4th Weekend

Glacier Ice Cream, a beloved brand with roots in Boulder, CO, is opening a new franchise location on North College Avenue in Fort Collins. Since Glacier’s inception in 2001, over 1000 fun and unique flavors of hand made ice cream and gelato have been enjoyed by Colorado friends and families.

The new location just North of Old Town Fort Collins will have a dedicated parking lot, outdoor seating and a roll up garage door to enjoy the outdoors on those highly anticipated summer days. Inside you’ll find historical images, posters and signage from all over Colorado and memorabilia that owner Tony Karnes finds dear to his heart – along with tasty frozen treats.

“We wanted to bring a family friendly shop to North Fort Collins to serve the growing community and provide a space with ice cream and, dare I say it, parking” comments Karnes. “I wanted to create a fun space that can bring families and friends together off the main drag of Old Town while still being accessible.”

But how’s the ice cream, you say? Glacier has a cult-like following with lines stretching around the blocks at locations in Boulder, Denver, Greenwood Village, Englewood & Castle Rock. Each location carries it’s own flair, but the same delicious desserts. And did we say waffle cones?

“There’s nothing like the smell of a fresh waffle cone – I think the only thing better is the ice cream” jokes Karnes. With classic flavors like butter pecan to the unique and delicious salted caramel oreo, Glacier Ice Cream is sure to have a flavor for any palate. But this store is going to do it a little different.

“We wanted to offer something unique at our location to give it a little fun. Since I’m from Ohio originally, I had to have Grippo’s sweet & spicy BBQ chips. I believe there is no better ice cream pairing in the world. And then we thought, why not have CBD ice cream?”

That’s right – CBD infused Ice Cream.

“We’ll keep all the CBD ice creams in a separate refrigerator with a separate scoop, out of direct eyesight. We want to maintain a family friendly environment but have something a little unique for the adults” states Karnes.

The Grand Opening Celebration will run all weekend long from July3rd to July 5th and feature special promotion offers, including free single scoops for the first 100 customers. Glacier will be open 11 AM to 9 PM every day, with plans on expanding hours as business demands.
